G. Bosman Transport, Minnaard Transport, and International Transport Company Van de Swaluw to become part of AB Transport Group

AB Transport Group wants to offer customers a more comprehensive service for the transport of bulk agricultural products. To achieve this, the logistics provider will acquire a majority interest in Nisse company G. Bosman Transport, effective 1 January 2018. G. Bosman Transport, Minnaard Transport, and International Transport Company Van de Swaluw will join forces on that date.

AB Transport Group has an extensive potato transport network. Acquiring the majority stake in G. Bosman Transport will enable AB to offer a more complete package to its customers for the transport of other bulk agricultural products in Western Europe. G. Bosman Transport carries goods including vegetables, grass, sugar beets, grains, and artificial fertiliser. The merger with Minnaard Transport and Van de Swaluw will enable the businesses to strengthen their bulk transport networks. Minnaard Transport is also specialised in pallet transport. International Transport Company Van de Swaluw offers pallet transport, temperature-controlled transport, and bulk transport.

The bulk transport of G. Bosman Transport, Minnaard Transport, and International Transport Company Van de Swaluw will be accommodated in a separate business unit. Wim Minnaard and Wiebe Bosman will be responsible for the day-to-day management. This new AB Transport Group business unit will operate under the name G. Bosman Transport.

Giljo Bosman, director of G. Bosman Transport, says: "We are taking this step with continuity in mind. Joining forces will create a large, tightly-woven network, allowing us to increase both our flexibility and our offering for our clients.”
Bosman is specialised in walking floor and tipper transport. The Nisse-based company employs 120 staff and has a vehicle fleet of 65 trucks and trailers.

Minnaard Transport is also specialised in walking floor and tipper transport, and is based in Krabbendijke in Zeeland. Minnaard Transport employs 50 staff and has a vehicle fleet of more than 45 truck-trailer combinations.
Wim Minnaard, director of Minnaard Transport, says: "Growth requires an increase in scale, and joining forces gives us a wider range of options for guarantee excellent service to our customers."

Jos de Vos, director of International Transport Company Van de Swaluw, adds: "Becoming part of AB Transport Group means that we can better guarantee the provision of services to our clients, as well as their continuity. We have complete confidence that AB Transport Group can offer – and guarantee – our customers a suitable logistics solution going forward."
Van de Swaluw specialises in transporting bulk agricultural products to and from Belgium, Germany, France, Germany, Italy and England. The company is based in Heinkenszand and employs 27 staff, with a vehicle fleet of 25 trucks and 35 trailers. Van de Swaluw has worked with AB Transport Group as a charter for many years now.

“This expansion enables us to offer our customers a broader service,” says Dennis Wetenkamp, director of AB Transport Group. "The expansion furthers our ambition to develop into the most respected logistics service provider in the agri and food chains."
