AB Transport Group takes over Landjuweel's transport activities
AB Transport Group will be taking over Landjuweel's transport activities as of 1 May 2017. The acquisition gives Landjuweel increased efficiency, and more flexibility in the transport of table potatoes, while AB Transport Group expands its potato transport network further.
Landjuweel specialises in washing, sorting and packing potatoes for food retail and food service. The Uithuizermeeden-based company has a vehicle fleet of 14 trucks and trailers. AB Transport Group will take over both the drivers and the fleet.
Bram Werkman, general manager of Landjuweel: "This acquisition enables Landjuweel to focus entirely on its core activities. In AB Transport Group we have a partner that offers us the flexibility and efficiency we need in transport."
Dennis Wetenkamp, director of AB Transport Group, adds: "With our large, modern vehicle fleet of around 1,000 trucks and 1,350 trailers, we are able to scale up and down flexibly. There's always a vehicle nearby. We specialise in the transport of bulk agricultural products, refrigerated food products, flour, animal feed and liquid dairy. We will be taking care of delivering potatoes and transporting the finished products for Landjuweel. This is a perfect fit with our specialties."
