AB Texel Group acquires Goorden Wouw agricultural transport
Logistics provider AB Texel Group will take over the transport activities of Goorden Wouw B.V. as of 1 January 2021. This takeover allows expansion of the company's transport of vegetables and other agricultural products. The acquisition is in line with AB Texel Group's strategy of growing with its clients and to offer the sector optimal service.
Gordon Wouw specializes in transport of loose-loaded vegetables and herbs for the industry. With a fleet of modern hooklift combinations, moving floors and belt unloaders, the company transports spinach, beans, onions, and celeriac to destinations in Europe.
AB Texel Group specializes in transporting agricultural products, both loose-loaded onto belt unloaders, moving floors and tippers, as well as on pallets. It uses sliding curtain trailers and moving floors for pallet transport. In addition to agricultural products, AB Texel Group transports animal feed, flour, cooled food and liquid or solid dairy products.
AB Texel Group will now take over Goorden Wouw's entire transport operation. The firm's activities in the field of liquid-tight container leasing are not included in the takeover and will be continued by Anton Goorden.
Anton Goorden, Managing Director and owner of Goorden Wouw explains: 'I took this step to ensure the continuity of our transport activities, for both our clients and our employees. AB Texel Group is a reliable party that is well known in the sector.'
'We already transport some loads for the same clients' adds Dennis Wetenkamp, CEO of AB Texel Group 'We're strengthening our vegetable and agricultural product transport network with this take over. This means that we can increase our efficiency and optimise the service we provide to our clients even more. There is a great team of experienced people at Goorden Wouw and we are looking forward to working with them.'
